Director Murali Manohar stated that “Gurram Papireddy” is filled with organic comedy that audiences will thoroughly enjoy. Starring Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah, the film is produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby) under the presentation of Dr. Sandhya Goli. The director explained that the film is based on a dark-comedy concept that has not been seen on screen before. The original title “Paramapadasopanam” was later changed to “Gurram Papireddy” to make it more appealing to the audience, as it is also the name of the hero’s character. The film humorously showcases how the lives of intelligent and less-intelligent individuals change based on the decisions they make. Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah delivered natural performances, with Faria also writing, singing, and choreographing a song. Brahmanandam plays a key role, and a robotic-arm camera setup was used for shooting several scenes.
The director shared that Yogi Babu plays an important role, and the team waited three months to match his dates. The film runs for two and a half hours but maintains an engaging flow without dull moments. Even though it is releasing on the same day as “Avatar”, he believes Telugu audiences will support their own cinema. He added that “Gurram Papireddy” is completely different from his first film “Simba”, as he prefers making movies in varied genres. The director also revealed that his upcoming projects include a musical romantic film and a complete horror thriller.
