

Geetu Mohandas began her film journey at just five years old with the 1986 Malayalam film Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare. Her performance won her a Kerala State Film Award and marked the beginning of a remarkable career. In the early 2000s, she established herself as a leading actress in Malayalam cinema and won the Best Actress award for her performance in the 2004 film Akale.
After making a mark as an actress, Geetu took the challenging step of moving behind the camera. She earned international recognition as a filmmaker with critically acclaimed independent films such as Liar’s Dice and Moothon. Her latest project, Toxic, marks a major step forward as she directs Yash in a large-scale gangster drama. The film brings together a filmmaker with a strong independent voice and one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars, raising expectations for Geetu’s next chapter.
