Abbas was once one of the most popular romantic heroes in South Indian cinema, enjoying a massive fan following, especially among youngsters and female audiences. He acted alongside top actresses including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and delivered several memorable hits during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Abbas gained immense recognition with Kadhal Desam, which became a cult romantic drama among youth. He also impressed audiences with films like Priyuralu Pilichindi, Raja, Krishna Babu, and Priya O Priya.
Despite his popularity, Abbas gradually disappeared from the film industry and later moved to New Zealand with his family. In previous interviews, the actor revealed that he worked as a bike mechanic, taxi driver, and even in software jobs to support his family during difficult times. His life journey surprised many fans, as the once-famous actor had to take up ordinary jobs after stepping away from cinema. However, Abbas has now made a comeback to films and was recently seen in the Tamil movie Happy Raja starring G. V. Prakash Kumar, marking a new chapter in his acting career.
