The blockbuster film "Akhanda 2: Thandavam," directed by Boyapati Srinu and starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has achieved tremendous success since its grand worldwide release on December 12. Produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri, the movie blends powerful commercial elements with themes of dharma, devotion, and patriotism. Boyapati expressed immense joy over the film's reception, emphasizing that it was made to reach the masses and highlight Indian cultural values where God and righteousness are integral to life. The audience's enthusiastic response, including house-full collections and emotional salutes in theaters, has brought great honor, especially seeing children cheering. The director noted the film's unique fusion of devotion and national pride, drawing from epic tales, and its potential as a grand spectacle comparable to international superhero films but rooted in authentic Indian history and spirituality.
Despite a one-week delay due to unavoidable circumstances, Boyapati credited Balakrishna's unwavering support for ensuring a smooth release, prioritizing fans' feelings throughout. He detailed the meticulous crafting of elements like the Aghora character's voice modulation and logical explanations for superhuman powers through Ashtasiddhi practices. The film has received strong responses in Karnataka, Chennai, and Hindi markets, even in remote villages. Boyapati mentioned completing the shoot in 135 days and postponing the release to avoid clashing with another major film, showcasing industry camaraderie. He hinted at the movie's enhanced appeal in 3D for children and revealed plans for a new project announcement in 10 days, expressing interest in exploring mythological genres while maintaining careful planning for all future endeavors.
