Producer Dil Raju has confirmed that the film ‘Peddi’ will be released on June 4 under a smooth and positive environment, stating that there is no need for any doubts regarding its release. He spoke to the media after a Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce meeting on the ongoing issues in the Telugu film industry.
He said discussions were held between exhibitors and producers and several issues were resolved. Producers have responded positively to the percentage-based revenue sharing model demanded by exhibitors. A committee will be formed to decide the percentage system based on A, B, and C center theatres. The exhibitors had earlier stated they would only screen films agreeing to this model, while producers argued it could cause losses. The matter was discussed in the presence of Suresh Babu, and a 15-member committee has been formed to submit a report within two months. ‘Peddi’, starring Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu, remains unaffected by the dispute.
