Engagement Excitement… Rashmika Announces Release Date

Rashmika Mandanna’s name has been trending on social media since yesterday. The reason: she got engaged to Tollywood’s young hero Vijay Deverakonda. After being in a relationship for several years, the couple finally tied the knot with a simple engagement ceremony attended by family members. Their wedding is expected to take place in February.

Amid this excitement, Rashmika also announced the release date of her long-delayed film.

Directed by actor-turned-director Rahul Ravindran, Rashmika stars in the lady-oriented film The Girlfriend. The movie was initially slated for a summer release, but it got postponed multiple times. It was then scheduled for September 5, which was also missed.

After a long period without updates, the film team released a promo, finally bringing the movie back into the news. The promo revealed that the film will now release on November 7. In the teaser, the hero and heroine exchange questions about how to determine the right match — a boy for a girl or a girl for a boy. They invite the audience to come to theaters on November 7 to resolve the confusion.

The film is produced by Vidya Koppineni and Dheeraj Mogileni in association with Geetha Arts. Alongside Rashmika, Dheekshith Shetty, known from Dasara, plays the male lead. Rahul Ravindran, who impressed audiences with Chi La Sow and shocked them with Manmadhudu 2, took a long gap before making this film.
