

From the day of its announcement, Draupadi 2, directed by Mohan G, has been generating strong buzz among audiences and film circles alike. Set in the backdrop of 14th-century South India, the film has been mounted as a high-budget, multilingual historical action drama. The movie has successfully completed its censor formalities and received a U/A certificate. Richard Rishi’s striking look, impressive visuals, and soulful songs have further amplified expectations, while the inclusion of Chirag Jani as the antagonist has taken the hype to the next level.
Speaking about the film, director Mohan G revealed that Chirag Jani plays the role of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, portrayed not just as a villain but as a ruler whose decisions lead him into complex situations. He praised Chirag for balancing intelligence and emotional depth in a challenging role often described historically as that of a “wise fool”. Richard Rishi headlines the film with Rukshana Indusudan as the female lead, while Natti Nataraj appears in a key role. Backed by Netaji Productions and GM Film Corporation, the film boasts cinematography by Philip R. Sundar and music by Ghibran. With the trailer and audio launch lined up soon, the makers are gearing up for a grand worldwide release, with the release date to be announced shortly.
