Suriya, one of Kollywood’s most versatile actors known for choosing unique scripts, has been awaiting a strong comeback after recent films like Retro failed to impress audiences. His latest film Karuppu (titled Veerabhadrudu in Telugu), directed by RJ Balaji and starring Trisha Krishnan, released amid high expectations. In the film, Suriya plays a lawyer, and the trailer had already created positive buzz among fans who were hopeful for a solid hit.
However, the film suffered a major setback just hours before its premiere. Despite the Tamil Nadu government recently allowing special shows starting at 9 AM, all early morning shows of Karuppu were unexpectedly cancelled due to unavoidable reasons, as announced by producer S.R. Prabhu. While the exact reason remains unclear, only regular shows are being screened. The sudden cancellation has disappointed fans, especially given the high expectations surrounding the film, leading to frustration among Suriya’s followers.
