It is known that filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) made sarcastic tweets about Megastar Chiranjeevi nearly eight years ago during the release of Khaidi No. 150, mocking some stills from the film. Chiranjeevi, in response, expressed his disappointment in a dignified manner, acknowledging RGV’s talent but questioning his intent behind such remarks. At that time, it was Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagababu who fiercely defended him and lashed out at RGV. After years of silence between the two, the topic resurfaced recently when Chiranjeevi appreciated RGV’s iconic film Shiva in a video byte regarding its re-release. This unexpected praise reflected Chiranjeevi’s graciousness and maturity, earning admiration from fans and the industry alike.
Following this, RGV took to Twitter to publicly apologize to Chiranjeevi, thanking him for his kind words and expressing regret if he had unintentionally hurt him in the past. Interestingly, in the same video, Chiranjeevi first mentioned Nagarjuna — the lead actor of Shiva — calling him a close friend before referring to RGV. This suggested that Chiranjeevi recorded the byte more out of respect for Nagarjuna than for RGV himself. Nonetheless, it was a warm gesture that melted years of tension. Fans are now wondering if this marks the long-awaited reconciliation between RGV and Chiranjeevi.
