According to reports, Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil was initially considered for a crucial role in the film. However, as his dates reportedly did not work out, the makers are said to have approached Tamil actor SJ Suryah. The latest buzz is that SJ Suryah demanded a remuneration of around ₹8 crore for the role, prompting the team to reportedly reconsider the casting.

It is now being speculated that Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has been brought on board for the same role. Ram Pothineni and Genelia have shared a close friendship since their ‘Ready’ days, and reports suggest that Genelia may have recommended Riteish for the role.
