Did Deepika Ask for a Share in Profits?

Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga, brother of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has revealed interesting details about discussions surrounding one of his brother’s projects. Speaking on a podcast, he recalled that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was initially considered as the female lead. According to him, discussions over the script continued for nearly a year and a half.

Pranay Reddy Vanga said Deepika’s remuneration, shooting dates and call-sheet requirements changed after she delivered two major hits. He claimed that she also sought a 10% share of the film’s net income. He further alleged that certain key details related to the project were leaked. According to Pranay, Sandeep Reddy Vanga felt the developments could affect the project’s plans and subsequently decided to drop her from the project.
