The movie Dhurandhar 2 continues its strong run at the box office. According to trade reports, the film has collected around ₹1,128 crore (gross) worldwide so far. On its 9th day, the Hindi version earned ₹41.55 crore, while the Telugu version collected ₹2.85 crore. However, the film has not made a big impact in Tamil Nadu. Across the country, about 18,456 shows were screened and the film is already breaking several previous records.
The Dhurandhar franchise is setting new benchmarks in the film industry. Combined collections of both films in the series have already surpassed the lifetime earnings of popular films like Dangal, Baahubali and Pushpa. However, when compared to Baahubali 2 (₹1,810 crore) and Pushpa 2 (₹1,800 crore), Dhurandhar: The Revenge is still behind. Since the film has completed only 10 days, trade experts believe it has a strong chance to cross these records in the coming days. The record for the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide is still held by Dangal at ₹2,024 crore.
Although Dhurandhar 2 is performing well, there are reasons why its collections are not growing even faster. The first part was released only in Hindi, which limited its reach. For the second part, the team tried to avoid this mistake by releasing it in multiple languages. However, due to censor and technical issues, the Telugu and Tamil premieres were delayed by two days, which slightly affected collections. Another major difference is ticket pricing. Films like Pushpa 2 increased ticket prices, with premiere tickets sold at high rates. But Dhurandhar 2 was released without any ticket price hike, yet it still managed to earn over ₹1,100 crore in just 9 days.
