Dhanush Sets a Rare Record with Hits in Three Languages in a Single Year

Tamil star Dhanush has achieved a rare milestone this year. While releasing three films in the same year is uncommon for any leading actor, delivering hits in three different languages within the same year is even more exceptional. Dhanush is now the only star to hold this distinction.

His film ‘Kubera’ arrived in June as his second Telugu release after ‘Sir’. Though the movie performed well in Telugu, it could not make much impact in Tamil.

Later, his self-directed project ‘Idly Kadai’ hit the screens in early October. While the film did not perform strongly in Telugu, it turned into a major hit in Tamil. After its OTT release, the film received even more appreciation, marking Dhanush’s fourth consecutive success as a director.

Most recently, Dhanush made a mark in Bollywood with ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, directed by Aanand L. Rai, who earlier delivered the memorable ‘Raanjhanaa’ with him. Featuring Kriti Sanon, the film opened to positive reviews.

With a solid opening of 15 crore net on day one in India and a steady weekend that pushed it past the 50-crore mark, the film is performing strongly even on weekdays. Dhanush has thus secured yet another Bollywood success, earning praise for his performance from all corners.

By scoring hits in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi in the same year, Dhanush has set a record that may remain untouched for a long time.
