Devayani’s Daughter Enters Films with Telugu ‘Court’ Remake!

The daughter of former popular actress Devayani is stepping into the film industry. Her younger daughter, Priyanka Raj Kumar, is starting her journey as an actress. Interestingly, her debut film is the Tamil remake of the 2024 Telugu movie Court, which carries a strong social message about awareness of the POCSO Act.

The Tamil version is being made under the title Ranjan: The Advocate, based on the Telugu original. It is directed by Thiagarajan, and his son Jeans Prashanth is playing the lead role. Priyanka will play the heroine role that was portrayed by Sridevi in the Telugu version. The film’s launch event was held grandly in Chennai on Monday.

Notably, producer S. Kathiresan’s son Hari is also making his acting debut with this film. He will play the role that Harsh Roshan played in the Telugu version. Devayani expressed happiness about introducing her daughter to cinema and said she is confident that Priyanka will succeed. Many celebrities, including actor Vishal and director Vetrimaaran, attended the event. The movie is currently in the shooting stage.
