The upcoming Bollywood film Don 3 has become a major talking point in the industry, and amid the ongoing discussions, an old controversy involving Deepika Padukone has resurfaced on social media. Netizens are revisiting the 2012 Race 2 incident, where producer Ramesh Taurani had publicly expressed dissatisfaction with her conduct during the shoot. He alleged that after six days of filming, she abruptly walked out of the project, forcing the team to adjust schedules according to her availability. Despite accommodating her dates, he claimed her sudden exit created significant inconvenience. In an interview, he also mentioned that she failed to attend meetings and did not respond to calls or messages, calling it an unprecedented experience in his 25-year career.
Following her exit, the production team reportedly planned to approach film bodies with a complaint, leaving the producer with no alternative. However, Deepika later held discussions with the makers and rejoined the project under revised conditions, eventually completing the film. Released in 2013, Race 2 turned out to be a commercial success. Meanwhile, amid speculation around Ranveer Singh and his involvement in Don 3, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees clarified that there is no official ban on the actor. They stated that while they lack authority to impose a ban, members were advised not to collaborate with him until the issue is resolved. Reports suggest that Ranveer Singh may still join Don 3 after discussions with the makers under new terms.
