In the South Indian film industry, sensational director Lokesh Kanagaraj has carved a unique identity through his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Known for blockbuster hits like Kaithi, Vikram and Leo, he has impressed audiences with his directorial brilliance. Now, he is all set to step onto the big screen as a lead actor, showcasing a commanding presence. This year, Lokesh will make his debut as a protagonist in the prestigious film DC (Devadas + Chandra).
On February 14, Valentine’s Day, the film’s unit released glimpses of the movie under the title Bloody Valentine. While Valentine’s Day videos are typically filled with romance and love, Lokesh’s film is defined by violence. The glimpses showcase bloodshed and Lokesh taking down his enemies in a fierce and intense look. The scene featuring blood splattered across a car hints at the extreme level of action and violence the audience can expect from the film.
The title DC has a special significance. In the film, Lokesh plays Devadas, while Bollywood beauty Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra. The title is derived from the first letters of their names. The movie is being promoted as a modern and violent reinterpretation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devadas. Directed by Captain Miller fame Arun Matheswaran, with music composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander, the film is being produced on a massive budget by Sun Pictures. Lokesh is set to make his debut as a lead actor this summer, and audiences are eager to see how he translates his directorial magic onto the big screen as a hero.
