Based on Indian mythology, Prasanth Varma’s upcoming film ‘Mahakali’ is set to explore themes such as discrimination, self-confidence, inner strength and reclaiming one’s true identity. The film is also expected to address discrimination faced because of dark skin. The recently released ‘Shukracharya’s War Cry’ glimpse avoids revealing the complete storyline and instead offers a glimpse into the grand and dark world of ‘Mahakali’.
Akshaye Khanna makes a striking impression as Shukracharya, sporting a long silver beard and a distinctive hairstyle, with an intense and mysterious appearance. Known in mythology as the guru of the Asuras, Shukracharya is expected to play a crucial role in the film. Sriya Reddy also catches attention in the glimpse with her appearance as Peddamma. Featuring horror elements, mythology, massive visuals and a dark tone, ‘Mahakali’ is scheduled for release on January 8, 2027, and is part of Prasanth Varma’s cinematic universe following ‘Hanu-Man’.
