Court Order Halts BookMyShow Ratings

The issue of BookMyShow ratings and reviews, which has been a long-standing headache for film producers, has taken a crucial turn. There have been allegations that some individuals are misusing the option to give reviews without purchasing tickets, deliberately manipulating ratings for films using bots and fake accounts to give negative or positive ratings. Producers have expressed their dissatisfaction with this issue on several occasions, and producer Naga Vamsi also spoke about this rating manipulation in an interview.

Now, a solution seems to have been found for this problem concerning the film of Mr. Shankara Vara Prasad, which is currently awaiting release. Following a court order, BookMyShow has completely suspended ratings and reviews for this film. Producers believe that this decision will prevent the manipulation of ratings through fake accounts and bots. It is reported that this process involved several weeks of legal efforts.

The production company, Shine Screens, expressed its gratitude to Ai Plex and Blocking Big for their cooperation in this change. Previously, BookMyShow ratings were not only used by anti-fans to attack films, but in some cases, ratings were artificially inflated for ordinary films, impacting OTT and satellite deals. In this context, the opinion is being expressed that the job of a ticket booking platform is to sell tickets, not to determine the fate of films. There is a discussion that this decision will set a precedent for other films in the future.
