Actress Manasa Varanasi said Couple Friendly is a refreshing romantic musical that appeals equally to youth and family audiences. Starring Santosh Soban as the male lead, the film is produced by the prestigious UV Creations under the UV Concepts banner and directed by Ashwin Chandrasekhar. Releasing in Telugu and Tamil on February 14 for Valentine’s Day, the film explores modern relationships in a new-age narrative. Speaking in an interview, Manasa shared that she was drawn to the project by its unique script and the passion of the team. She plays Mithra, a lively, impulsive, middle-class girl who moves to Chennai for work. The film avoids routine love-story templates and presents a rare, realistic meeting between two individuals from different worlds, making the concept of live-in relationships relatable and thoughtful.
Manasa praised Santosh Soban’s dedication and said their workshops helped build strong on-screen chemistry. She addressed the controversy around the title Couple Friendly, stating it was misunderstood and is meant in a positive sense. Talking about intimate scenes, she said the team handled them professionally and aesthetically, without vulgarity. She also opened up about her journey from Miss India to cinema, the initial concerns of her middle-class family, and how their support grew over time. Shot largely in Chennai using guerrilla filmmaking, the movie offered her a fresh acting experience. Manasa added that she is now carefully choosing scripts and hopes to explore romantic comedies, thrillers, and meaningful entertainers in both Telugu and Tamil cinema.
