Sree Vishnu’s ‘Comrade Kalyan’ is gearing up for its theatrical release this Friday, with Mahima Nambiar playing the female lead. Directed by Janakiram Marella, the film is set against the backdrop of the Andhra-Odisha border in 1992. The makers unveiled the theatrical trailer today, offering a glimpse of a fun-filled story with elements of romance, comedy and action.
The film follows a Naxalite who goes into hiding and secretly lives with his family in a small town near the Andhra-Odisha border. He falls in love with an Odia girl, with the language barrier adding a comic touch to their relationship. The latter part of the trailer hints at a police search operation for the protagonist, with even the manhunt sequences packed with humour. Sree Vishnu appears in a lively role, while Radhika, Sudarshan and Shine Tom Chacko play key characters. Presented by Kona Venkat and produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner, the film features music by Vijay Bulganin.
