Comedy films are making a strong comeback in Bollywood after struggling at the box office last year. Following the dominance of action and romantic entertainers, audiences are once again embracing light-hearted family entertainers. Akshay Kumar's 'Bhoot Bangla' has emerged as a successful release, while 'Cocktail 2', which opened to a modest response, gradually gained momentum through positive audience reception. Despite receiving mixed reviews, 'Welcome To The Jungle' finished its theatrical run close to the ₹190 crore mark.
The latest comedy release, 'Dhamaal 4', also surprised the trade by entering the ₹100 crore club despite initial negative reviews. Although the film is still working towards achieving break-even, the absence of major box-office competition this week is expected to boost its collections further. Industry analysts believe the renewed success of comedy entertainers has restored producers' confidence, proving that audiences are once again prioritizing wholesome entertainment.
