Comedy actress Vasuki, popularly known as Pakeeza, has found shelter in an old age home after facing severe hardships. She is currently residing at the Sri Rama Old Age Home in Bobbarlanka village of Atreyapuram mandal, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. Originally from Tamil Nadu, Vasuki made her Telugu film debut in 1991 with Mohan Babu’s film Assembly Rowdy.
She later appeared in several notable films including Major Chandrakanth, Pedarayudu, Rowdygari Pellam, Brahma, and Punyabhoomi Naa Desam, earning recognition among Telugu audiences. However, due to a series of unfortunate developments, she went through a difficult phase in life. Her struggling condition recently came to light through social media, following which Sri Rama Old Age Home founder Jalli Keshava Rao extended support and shelter to her.
Speaking emotionally, Vasuki said, “I will always be indebted to Mohan Babu’s family for introducing me to films. His son Manchu Vishnu arranged eye surgery after learning about my condition. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, along with Chiranjeevi and Nagababu, extended financial assistance of ₹4 lakh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Lokesh are also supporting me. Keshava Rao helped with the address change on my Aadhaar card. If the district administration grants me a pension and rice card, it would be a great relief.”
She added, “When I first came to the old age home, my health was weak. It has improved now. I am also doing my part by serving the elderly here. The love and affection shown by Telugu audiences will always remain unforgettable.”
