Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey Creates Box Office History with Massive Global Opening

Christopher Nolan's epic adventure The Odyssey has opened to a phenomenal response at the global box office. Starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway, the film hit theatres worldwide on July 17 amid tremendous anticipation and has received highly positive reviews. In India, the film collected ₹17.40 crore on its opening day and followed it up with ₹22 crore on Day 2, taking its two-day total to ₹39.40 crore share and ₹47.03 crore gross. The English version has led the collections, while the Telugu, Hindi and Tamil versions have also performed strongly across the country.

The film has also rewritten records in the international market by emerging as Christopher Nolan's biggest worldwide opener. The Odyssey has grossed an impressive $257.8 million (over ₹2,150 crore) globally in just two days, including $120.5 million from North America and $137.3 million from overseas markets. With this, it has surpassed the opening records of Nolan's previous blockbusters The Dark Knight Rises ($249 million) and Oppenheimer ($180 million). Trade analysts expect the collections to rise further with the weekend business.
