As the year draws to a close, movie lovers are gearing up for a festive treat at the theatres. With Christmas falling midweek this time, film releases began a day early, creating unusual buzz across the Telugu box office. Unlike regular weeks, this Christmas weekend is witnessing an unusually high number of releases, with more than half a dozen films hitting the screens.
In total, eight films from Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam industries are arriving during the December 25 weekend. However, what stands out is that four Telugu films have generated noticeably stronger buzz compared to the rest. Let’s take a closer look at the films that are leading the race.
Champion stars young actor Roshan Meka in the lead. Though announced a few years ago, the film has managed to build solid momentum in recent weeks. Producer Swapna Dutt and director Pradeep Advaitham have consistently released engaging promotional content, which has connected well with audiences. With well-planned promotions and positive word around its concept, Champion has emerged as one of the most anticipated films this weekend.
After waiting for a solid hit, actor Aadi Saikumar returns with the supernatural thriller Shambala. Directed by Yugandhar Muni, the film has steadily built interest right from its announcement video. The intriguing theme and genre-driven promotions have helped Shambala gain a place in the audience’s must-watch list for the Christmas weekend.
Closing the year on a horror note, Eesha stars Hebah Patel in the lead role. While the cast and crew details were initially low-profile, the film gradually caught attention through smart and creative promotions. Beyond being just another horror film, the way the makers marketed Eesha has sparked curiosity among audiences, making it one of the surprise buzz films of the weekend.
With multiple releases competing for attention, the Christmas weekend promises variety at the box office. Among the eight films releasing, these four Telugu movies currently enjoy the strongest buzz and are expected to dominate audience interest.
