

Renowned director and cinematic genius Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who changed the course of Indian cinema, passed away last night. His death has plunged the Telugu film industry into deep mourning. Known for his innovative and experimental approach to filmmaking, Singeetam’s demise has prompted several film personalities to express their grief and pay tribute while recalling their association with the legendary filmmaker.
Megastar Chiranjeevi was deeply emotional over the news of Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s passing.
“The news of Singeetam Srinivasa Rao garu’s demise has deeply shaken me. He was a true visionary. His courage and imagination in bringing new ideas to the screen gave Indian cinema some unforgettable films. His recent film ‘Singeetham’ is a testament to his endless passion for storytelling. His mind was always young and full of enthusiasm. We will miss you, Singeetam garu. Your films will continue to inspire generations. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” Chiranjeevi said.
World-renowned filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli also paid tribute to Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, highlighting his immense contribution to cinema.“He was a daring filmmaker who dreamed bigger than anyone else at a time when we did not have the right tools or budgets. He made a film without a single dialogue and took us on a journey through time. Comedy, fantasy, drama—he effortlessly crossed every genre. He made an entire generation believe that imagination was the only limit in cinema. Every Telugu director who experimented with something new owes him a debt of gratitude. I do too.
