Representatives of Telangana exhibitors, along with producer K. L. Narayana, Suresh Babu, Allu Aravind and several industry leaders, met Megastar Chiranjeevi on May 25, 2026, to discuss the ongoing crisis surrounding the percentage model for single-screen theatres. The delegation explained the concerns, fears, and current financial difficulties faced by exhibitors. Chiranjeevi reportedly reviewed all the details collected from the previous committee and assured everyone that justice would be done to all stakeholders in the industry.
Speaking after the meeting, Dil Raju clarified that the issue was related to the Telugu film industry as a whole and not specifically connected to the film “Peddi.” Chiranjeevi reiterated that the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is the highest governing body of the industry and its decisions must be respected by all. He stressed that public disagreements after the Chamber forms a committee send a wrong signal about industry unity. Acknowledging the dissatisfaction among some single-screen members regarding previous committees, he expressed confidence that the newly formed committee would thoroughly examine all aspects and submit a fair proposal by June 30 for producers, distributors, and exhibitors alike. An official announcement regarding the discussions is expected within the next two to three days.
