Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who has recently slowed down her film appearances after marriage, is carefully selecting her projects in her second innings. Despite working in films and web series, she is yet to achieve the expected success, but continues to stay positive and make the most of available opportunities. She was recently seen in Gandhi Talks and has now shared her thoughts in a recent interview about the evolving space for women in Indian cinema.
Aditi said that the portrayal and importance of women in films is gradually changing, but this transformation will only happen when actors and filmmakers consciously support meaningful storytelling. She emphasized that female characters should not be limited to glamour but should have depth and dignity. She also noted that women-led films are still seen as risky, but believes such risks are necessary. According to her, actors should choose roles wisely, say no when needed, and focus on discipline and meaningful performances rather than just fame or awards.
