The Central Board of Film Certification has strongly denied allegations linking it to the leak of scenes from the film Jananayagan, starring Vijay. In an official statement released through the Press Information Bureau Maharashtra handle, the CBFC clarified that the Digital Cinema Package (DCP) of the film was handed over to the producers in Mumbai on March 17, and has remained with them since. The board emphasized that the content is password-protected and can only be accessed using a Key Delivery Message (KDM), which is exclusively available with the producers.
The controversy erupted after key scenes from the film surfaced online, leading to speculation about the source of the leak. The CBFC stated that such allegations are baseless and misleading. Several film personalities, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Rishab Shetty, and Vijay Deverakonda, condemned the piracy incident and extended support to the film’s team. The production house KVN Productions also issued a warning stating that watching or sharing leaked content is a punishable offence and urged the public not to circulate such clips on platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram.
