Prominent director and producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj has stated that harassment in the film industry is a reality. However, he clarified that it does not mean everyone in the industry is involved in such practices. He noted that this issue has existed since the early days of the Telugu film industry. With nearly 250 films produced every year, he pointed out that around 30 to 40 films are reportedly made with the intent of exploiting women, calling it an undeniable fact.
He further said that singer Chinmayi’s statements about the casting couch are true, adding that there is a mindset among a few influential individuals in the industry who attempt to satisfy their sexual desires. He emphasized that while such behavior exists, it is limited to a small section and should not be seen as representative of the entire industry.
