Due to the lackluster reception of Ravi Teja's Mass Jathara and the mixed reception to the re-release of Baahubali: The Epic, the Telugu box office has entered a drab phase this week. Occupancy in the Telugu states has drastically decreased, with the exception of a few multiplexes in Hyderabad. According to industry insiders, both movies have already reached the end of their run, leaving theaters waiting for the next big blockbuster.
Now, focus shifts to November 7, when a number of new releases are expected to boost the box office.
The Girlfriend by Rashmika Mandanna is creating a lot of buzz among young people because of its romantic theme and poignant story.
Another noteworthy release this week is Jatadhara, a fantasy drama by Sudheer Babu. Like Mirai earlier this year, the film's creators hope that its original idea will surprise viewers.
Other releases include Aryan, the Telugu-dubbed version of Vishnu Vishal's Tamil film that has gotten mediocre reviews.
Thiruveer's The Greatest Pre-Wedding Show, which mainly relies on word-of-mouth from viewers.
The lineup also includes projects like Emraan Hashmi's pan-Indian venture Hawk, Krishna Leela, and Premisthunna. This weekend will determine which movie can revive the faltering Telugu box office, as there are a lot of options hitting theaters.
