BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has launched a sharp attack on renowned music composer A.R. Rahman. In a lengthy post on her Instagram story, Kangana claimed that she has been facing discrimination and bias within the film industry for supporting the saffron party. However, she went on to say that she has never encountered someone as hateful and prejudiced as A.R. Rahman, making her remarks a major talking point on social media.
Kangana alleged that she had approached Rahman to compose music for her directorial film Emergency, but he was not even willing to listen to the story or meet her. She claimed that he assumed the film to be a “propaganda movie” linked to a particular ideology and therefore chose not to associate with it. Kangana further stated that Emergency was praised by critics as a “masterpiece” and was appreciated even by opposition leaders for its balanced narrative. Concluding her post, she remarked that Rahman was “blinded by hatred”, intensifying the ongoing debate in Bollywood over politics and ideological bias.
