

P. Bharat Bhushan took oath as Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APSFTVTDC), while C.H. Meher Ramesh assumed charge as Vice Chairman during a ceremony held at the NTR Administrative Building on Sunday evening. Speaking after the oath-taking event, Bharat Bhushan said he would work towards the growth of cinema, television and theatre arts in Andhra Pradesh. He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Kandula Durgesh and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna for giving him the opportunity to serve the industry.
Minister for Cinematography and Tourism Kandula Durgesh stated that the coalition government is committed to reviving arts and cinema in the state after years of neglect. He announced plans to restart Nandi Awards and Nandi Natakotsavams while strengthening the Film Development Corporation. MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna stressed the need for a single-window clearance system for film shootings and called for restoring Andhra Pradesh’s former prominence in the film industry. He also urged producers to establish studios, dubbing and recording theatres in the state to support the growth of Telugu cinema.
