Bhagyashri Borse is currently being seen as one of the luckiest actresses in Tollywood. Even though her first two films did not perform well, opportunities continue to come her way thanks to her looks, screen presence and acting ability. Her upcoming film Kantha, featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, is hitting theatres this week. Set in the 1950s with a strong Kollywood flavour, the film has been crafted carefully by director Selvamani Selvaraj to appeal to audiences across languages.
In recent interviews, Bhagyashri said that viewers will witness her real performance in this film. Industry talk suggests that her confidence comes from the strong scope her character has in the story. The core of the movie revolves around the tense conflict between Dulquer Salmaan and Samuthirakani, and Bhagyashri’s role is said to be crucial in the major turning points. While the key twist cannot be revealed, reports say her character will surprise the audience.
If Kantha performs well, it could open doors for Bhagyashri in Tamil cinema as well. Her other upcoming film AndhraKing is also carrying positive buzz, and with actors like Ram and Upendra involved, she may receive offers from the Sandalwood industry too. November could turn out to be a significant month in her career.
Although she previously made cameo appearances in a few Hindi projects, they did not bring her the recognition she expected. This time, she is focusing strongly on the South market. Given her confidence, some feel she might achieve a breakthrough similar to Keerthy Suresh’s rise with Mahanati.
