Bengaluru Court Warns of Action Over Fake News on Toxic

A Bengaluru court has taken action against the alleged spread of false and defamatory content concerning the film Toxic. The court was hearing a petition filed by the film’s production house, KVN Productions, over fake campaigns being circulated on social media. As part of its interim directions, the court prohibited the publication, sharing and circulation of content that is false or defamatory towards the film.

The court also warned individuals against deliberately creating or spreading misleading information about Toxic. It made it clear that content intended to demean the film should not be posted, streamed or shared through media or social media platforms. The interim directions will remain in effect until September 28. The court further stated that violations of its conditions could result in the orders being cancelled without prior notice.
