Balakrishna openly criticized the new-age filmmaking trend, saying today’s heroes rely heavily on green-mat shooting and VFX without even coming to the sets. He emphasized that he is an “original performer,” not a duplicate dependent on technology.

His comments highlight a bigger issue — audiences today can’t distinguish whether a hero actually performed a stunt or if it was managed with a body double and AI.

Balayya noted that senior actors took real risks and carried real weight in their performances, something missing in today’s tech-driven era. He warned that over-reliance on AI may make future cinema even more artificial and misleading.
