The film ‘The Rajasaab’, starring Tollywood star Prabhas and directed by Maruti, is a horror-comedy-thriller made on a big budget. It will release on January 9, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The makers have confirmed that the movie will be available in all formats, including IMAX. Teasers and glimpses were released in IMAX to provide the best viewing experience, so all attention is now on the IMAX version.
However, overseas IMAX release will not happen, as announced by the prominent distribution company Prathyangira Cinemas. The reason is a special IMAX agreement for ‘Avatar 3’, which releases on December 19. Therefore, overseas audiences can watch ‘The Rajasaab’ in other available formats like PLF and DBOX.
Prathyangira Cinemas also stated that even in these formats, a four-week agreement with ‘Avatar 3’ exists. However, they are making every effort to provide as many special-format shows as possible. Since there is a short gap between the two releases, it was not possible to release ‘The Rajasaab’ in IMAX overseas. This has left overseas fans somewhat disappointed.
