The Third Part of the Avatar franchise, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, premiered worldwide on December 18 with grand celebrations. The film has opened at the box office on a fairly solid note, drawing significant attention across global markets in its opening days.
Industry reports project an opening weekend collection in the range of $340 million to $380 million. The domestic market in the United States is expected to contribute around $90 million, while overseas territories are projected to add more than $250 million. With strong audience reception, the film could push toward the higher end of these estimates.
Historically, Avatar films have tended to start slower than major Marvel or DC releases but have enjoyed exceptionally long theatrical runs worldwide. Fire and Ash is expected to follow a similar trajectory. However, whether it can cross the coveted $2 billion milestone, as Avatar: The Way of Water did, remains uncertain, especially in light of the mixed responses following its global premiere.
