Chennai media circles are abuzz with reports that superstar Rajinikanth might soon retire from films. Though there’s no official confirmation from him, strong industry sources have sparked intense discussions online. Reportedly, Rajinikanth is currently finalizing two major projects — one directed by Sundar C under the Raj Kamal International banner, expected to be announced on November 7, and another multistarrer with Kamal Haasan directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Nelson will reportedly begin work on it after the release of Jailer 2. However, the project planned with Jr NTR may be delayed further.
If the retirement news turns out to be true, fans believe it’s a good step for his health. Even at 70+, Rajinikanth continues to work tirelessly for his fans. Despite facing health issues during Robo filming, he returned to acting with renewed energy. Jailer’s blockbuster success gave him a new wave of enthusiasm, proving that his screen power is still unmatched. Given his age, the two final projects might keep him busy until 2027. Some cinegoers wonder why Sundar C, known mostly for B-grade horror comedies lately, was chosen. The answer may lie in their long-standing bond since Arunachalam, a film both consider special. It seems Rajinikanth wanted to give him another chance before signing off from cinema. If reports are accurate, fans may get to see Thalaivar on the big screen only two more times.
