Prominent YouTuber Naa Anveshana Anvesh is facing severe backlash from netizens for his controversial videos responding to actor Shivaji's comments on heroines' clothing. While Shivaji's remarks sparked industry opposition but garnered social media support, Anvesh's videos used abusive language, insulted Hindu deities like Sita Devi and Draupadi, and criticized figures like Garikapati. This led to widespread outrage, with followers unfollowing him en masse — his Instagram count dropped from 1.8 million to 1.6 million — and reporting his accounts.
In response to the uproar, Anvesh posted an apology video, but netizens demand stricter actions, including his arrest and channel shutdown. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad filed a complaint at Gopalapatnam police station, urging immediate measures for hurting religious sentiments. Since Anvesh is abroad and vows not to return to India, calls for passport seizure, Interpol involvement, and legal action by Telugu state governments are intensifying, emphasizing that apologies alone are insufficient for such offenses.
He spoke, “Didn’t Kichaka and Saindhava, who tried to assault Sita and Draupadi, die? There are semi-nude idols in front of temples… I requested that they be removed.” He continued, letting many words slip out in the heat of the moment. His comments on the Ramayana and Mahabharata angered Hindu organizations, which subsequently filed complaints. As a result, his approach drew criticism, and his follower count began to decline. With no other recourse, he issued a public apology.
He stated, “I am being asked to apologize to Goddess Sita and Draupadi. At the same time, I am also asked to apologize to Shivaji, Garikapati, and Hindu organizations. In the presence of Lord Ganesha, I extend my apologies to all of them. Previously, I mentioned that Kichaka and Saindhava, who tried to harm Draupadi, are no longer alive. Later, I said that Ravanasura attempted to abduct Sita and subsequently died. I also commented that those involved are indulging in luxuries like eating biryani, which I chose not to elaborate on further. I acknowledge my mistake and apologize sincerely. If this error were mine alone, I would face severe consequences. If my mistake is not forgiven, this year could be marked by misfortunes and disasters. I also apologize to Garikapati and Shivaji. I hereby withdraw the statements I made earlier.”
