Following the success of ‘Dhurandhar’, filmmaker Aditya Dhar is reportedly planning another ambitious historical film. According to industry reports, the director is exploring a pan-India project based on the life of Lachit Borphukan, the legendary Assamese military commander known for his role in protecting Assam. Preliminary discussions are said to have taken place with the Assam government regarding the proposed project.
As per Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Aditya Dhar is expected to visit Assam in August to discuss historical references, filming locations, and production requirements. Lachit Borphukan is remembered for leading the Ahom forces to victory over the Mughal army in the 1671 Battle of Saraighat. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, the project is already generating significant interest.
