Against the backdrop of India’s long-standing conflicts with neighboring Pakistan, several powerful stories have already been portrayed on the Bollywood screen. Films based on the Indo–Pakistan wars have consistently strengthened patriotic sentiment among audiences. Continuing in the same genre, Border 2 is also set to release soon.
Recently, Dhurandhar, inspired by a special operation carried out by the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to counter Pakistani gangsters and ISI conspiracies, has been performing well at the box office and drawing strong audience response.
Now, another impactful war story is ready to captivate viewers. The biographical war film IkkIS, based on the 1971 Indo–Pak war, is gearing up for release. This film marks the debut of Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, as a lead actor. He is set to test his luck as a commercial action hero with this project.
The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The recently released final trailer has significantly raised expectations and generated strong buzz around the movie.
Ikkis is based on the real-life story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee in the Indian Army. The film highlights how the 21-year-old officer fought bravely against Pakistani forces during the Battle of Basantar, showcasing his extraordinary courage and sacrifice.
Veteran actor Dharmendra appears in a key role in one of his final performances, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, known for Paatal Lok and Maharaj. Director Sriram Raghavan presents war not merely as gunfire and explosions, but as an emotional journey filled with sacrifice, valor, and human resilience.
Scheduled as a New Year release, Ikkis will hit theaters worldwide on January 1, 2026. By exposing Pakistan’s aggression and celebrating the bravery of Indian soldiers, the film is expected to make a strong impact at the box office.
