‘Ameer Log’, the debut production of Madhavi Reddy Soma under the Avval Number Productions banner, is directed by Ramana Reddy Soma and co-produced by Manohar Reddy Manchuri. Starring MC Hari, Manoj and Shashidhar in the lead roles, the film also features Vedha Jalandhar, Ravan Nittooru, Vishwender Reddy and Sayogi in key roles. The film is set to have a grand Telugu release on August 21 through Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. Speaking during the promotional campaign, director Ramana Reddy Soma said the film is rooted in the lives of three youngsters from a Hyderabad basti and has been made with a strong emphasis on realism. He explained that his interest in filmmaking developed over several years while working in architecture and writing stories based on his experiences and observations.
The director revealed that the film was shot extensively in a real basti and that the team opted for sync sound to preserve the natural performances and atmosphere. Including the demo shoot, the production took around 43 days, with nearly 38 days spent shooting in the basti. He said Spirit Media’s team appreciated the film, while filmmaker V.N. Aditya praised its writing and compared its feel with films such as Jhund and Gully Boy. Ramana Reddy also highlighted the film’s music, including a song sung by M.M. Keeravani, and said the film received only a few censor-related mute suggestions. With every character given importance and the actors encouraged to improvise their dialogues, the director is confident that ‘Ameer Log’ will emerge as a complete family entertainer.
