Superstar Mahesh Babu’s AMB Cinemas, in collaboration with Asian Cinemas, is all set for its grand opening in Bengaluru on December 16. Following the phenomenal success of the Gachibowli outlet in Hyderabad, which consistently enjoys a 92% occupancy rate, another luxury multiplex is nearing completion at RTC Cross Roads (at the site of the former iconic Sudarshan 70MM theatre). Now, the premium brand is entering Karnataka with its first property inside Orion Gateway Mall. This Bengaluru multiplex will boast India’s second-largest Dolby Cinema screen, making it truly special.
Orion Gateway Mall, located on Sarjapur Road, offers excellent connectivity to central Bengaluru. It is already a favourite spot for Kannada superstars like Yash, Rakshit Shetty, Sudeep (Kichcha Sudeep), Rachita Ram, and Sriimurali, who frequently attend movie premieres and release events here. Just like the Hyderabad AMB Cinemas has become a regular destination for Telugu and Bollywood celebrities on release days, this mall will soon see routine visits from Telugu, Kannada, and Bollywood stars. The brand is celebrating its 7-year milestone with this major Bengaluru expansion.
There is strong buzz that Mahesh Babu himself may attend the grand opening ceremony, though it depends on his shooting schedule for SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi (SSMB29). This joint venture between Mahesh Babu, Allu Aravind, and the Asian Group will feature four screens with Dolby Atmos sound and another four with Dolby 7.1 sound, along with luxury seating and a premium food court, promising a brand-new cinematic experience in Bengaluru. Websites like Cinejosh have praised the AMB brand for its rapid pan-India expansion.
