After Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor Sets His Sights on Brahmastra 2

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, released in 2022, became a major success and introduced audiences to an ambitious mythological fantasy universe. The film featured Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna, while Shah Rukh Khan appeared in a special role.

Now, work on Brahmastra 2 is reportedly gaining momentum. The sequel is said to be in the scripting and pre-production stages, with Ranbir Kapoor set to return as the lead. There is also growing speculation that he could portray both Shiva and Dev, adding another interesting dimension to the story.

Ranbir is currently expected to focus on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 2, with its shoot reportedly likely to wrap by January 2027. Brahmastra 2 could then go on floors in April 2027. Alia Bhatt is reportedly set to reprise her role as Isha, while reports suggest Ayan Mukerji is in discussions with Deepika Padukone for the role of Amrita. However, none of these casting details have been officially confirmed.
