The debut of Chandrahass, son of popular TV actor Prabhakar, has been marred by controversy following a recent promotional event for his film, Barabar Premistha. The young actor is facing severe backlash online after using "foul language" during a live performance at the movie's pre-release event.
The Incident During the event, Chandrahass reportedly got carried away by the excitement and sang a song from the film using his own improvised lyrics, which included obscene words. The act left the live audience and TV viewers in shock. The clip quickly went viral, leading to a massive uproar on social media. Members of the media expressed strong objections, with one journalist demanding an immediate apology, stating that such behavior is unacceptable on a public platform. As the criticism extended to his parenting and family values, actor Prabhakar stepped forward on Saturday to address the issue. In an emotional video, he offered a sincere apology to the public and the media. He acknowledged that his son made a mistake and confirmed that he had reprimanded him for it. He requested the public not to judge his son’s entire upbringing based on one "slip of the tongue," asserting that he raised Chandrahass with proper values. He specifically apologized to senior actor JD Chakravarthy and director Jayanth C. Paranjee, who attended the event as guests and were inadvertently dragged into the controversy. Prabhakar noted that while the off-screen incident was unfortunate, audiences are appreciating Chandrahass's performance in the film, which is currently in theaters.Despite the "bold" start and the ensuing "racha" (commotion) on social media, Prabhakar hopes that the focus will shift back to the film's merit.
