Aamir Clears Sonam Wangchuk Rumours

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has finally addressed the speculation linking social activist Sonam Wangchuk to the iconic character Phunsukh Wangdu from 3 Idiots. Reacting to the ongoing discussion surrounding Wangchuk's hunger strike, Aamir clarified that the film was not inspired by Sonam Wangchuk and said the belief is a common misconception. He added that the team was unaware of Wangchuk while making the film.

Responding to actor Omi Vaidya's viral remarks describing Sonam Wangchuk as the real-life Phunsukh Wangdu, Aamir humorously said, “Chatur is wrong here too.” Despite dismissing the connection, Aamir expressed deep respect for Sonam Wangchuk's work, wished him good health, and praised his efforts for society.
