Expectations were extremely high when Rajamouli revealed the "Varanasi" teaser during the title announcement. The teaser, which has no dialogue, is meant to appeal to viewers around the world. The project, which featured Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu, was of course highly anticipated, but it received far fewer views than many had expected less than 20 million across all official YouTube channels.
T-Series' main channel currently has 15 million views, followed by Telugu with 1.7 million, Tamil with 600K, and Malayalam with 200K. The important thing to remember is that they are entirely organic, even though these figures may not seem like much. There has been no artificial boosting by Rajamouli's team no views, likes, or comments have been bought. These real numbers stand out because a lot of movies purchase views to generate phony buzz.
In a time when reels are more popular than full videos, Rajamouli's decision to prioritize honesty over exaggerated metrics is commendable. "Varanasi" might start a new trend by demonstrating that actual performance is more important than monetary figures. Going forward, any movie that attempts to purchase views might appear absurd in contrast.
