Keerthy Suresh’s dark comedy thriller Revolver Rita (dubbed from Tamil) released today in Telugu states but went completely unnoticed by regular audiences. Despite familiar faces like Radhika, Sunil and Keerthy’s personal promotions in Hyderabad, the film recorded near-zero occupancy outside a few Hyderabad shows.
The plot revolves around a mother-daughter duo accidentally killing a don and struggling to hide the body - a premise that instantly recalls Coco Kokila and Keeda Kola, yet lacks freshness and sharp writing, making it repetitive and tiresome.
For a National Award-winning talent like Keerthy, yet another underwhelming heroine-centric film hurts. Miss India, Penguin, Good Luck Sakhi and now Revolver Rita have all failed commercially, while her Bollywood entry Baby John also underperformed. The industry hopes stronger scripts come her way soon.
