In Telugu cinema, the moment the name Manmadhudu is mentioned, one immediately thinks of Nagarjuna. Even at 66, Nagarjuna continues to impress audiences with the same charm and style, making it hard to believe the years that have passed. Released on December 20, 2002, Manmadhudu remains a timeless romantic and emotional entertainer, completing 23 years today (December 20, 2025). To borrow a Trivikram-style analogy, just as a mother’s love or mango pickle never gets boring, Manmadhudu too never loses its freshness, no matter how many times it is watched.
Directed by K. Vijay Bhaskar with story and dialogues by Trivikram Srinivas, the film starred Sonali Bendre and Anshu as the female leads and was produced by Nagarjuna under the Annapurna Pictures banner. The film stood out for presenting Nagarjuna in a refreshing new dimension , unlike the traditional image of a charming womanizer, this ‘Manmadhudu’ famously hates women, highlighted by the caption “He Hates Women.” Even today, the film continues to entertain audiences on television and digital platforms, thanks to its perfect blend of romance, comedy, and emotion, Trivikram’s memorable dialogues, hilarious Paris episodes featuring Brahmanandam, and the evergreen music and background score by Devi Sri Prasad. Marking the milestone, Annapurna Studios recently shared a special video celebrating this evergreen classic.
