2026 has emerged as a promising year for Telugu cinema, with several established stars returning to winning form. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sankranthi release Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu delivered a major success, making the result particularly special after a phase of mixed box-office outcomes. Sharwanand also bounced back strongly with Nari Nari Naduma Murari, while Akhil Akkineni entered the ₹100-crore club with Lenin.
Varun Tej scored a hit with Korean Kanakaraju, crossing the ₹50-crore gross mark, while Ram Charan followed Game Changer with Peddi and secured a positive overall result despite reported break-even challenges in some overseas markets. Ravi Teja has also returned to form with Irumudi, which received a positive response from the very first shows.
The comeback trend has extended beyond the established stars. Suriya has been attracting audiences with Viswanath and Sons in the Telugu market, while Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram, Kiran Abbavaram’s Chennai Love Story and Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju have also generated interest. With several actors finding success, 2026 is shaping up as a year of renewed confidence for Telugu cinema.
